Municipality-awarded contracts are an important part of the business of local waste
service company J. P. Mascaro & Sons, and in the last quarter of 2013, Mascaro hit it big, being
awarded more than $50 million of waste collection, recycling and disposal contracts by
municipalities in Montgomery, Delaware, Bucks, Chester, Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Luzerne
and Lackawanna Counties, Pennsylvania.
Currently providing contracted waste services for over 70 communities in Pennsylvania,
Mascaro is an industry leader in this sector of the business.
Speaking to the recent contract awards, Company President Pat Mascaro said, “Our
continued success in this business sector is a reflection of our company’s comprehensive facility
infrastructure, its strong position in the marketplace, its experienced and dedicated management
team and employees, and its commitment to quality customer service. We continue to grow because we care about our business and our customers, and we have a ‘hands on’ approach to
everything we do.”
Additionally, Mascaro is ringing in the 2014 New Year with an impressive addition to its
facility infrastructure – the construction of a 100,000 square foot single stream recycling facility
on 13 acres of ground adjacent to the company’s Pioneer Crossing Landfill in Exeter Township,
Berks County. This modern, cutting edge recycling facility will be on line in early 2015, and it
will receive and process recyclables collected by Mascaro and others in the region.
“Our company is committed to comprehensive recycling programs and processes,
composting, and other green initiatives,” said Pat Mascaro, “and this, our fourth and most
sophisticated recycling facility, will further enable our company and the customers we serve to
achieve desired recycling goals.”
J. P. Mascaro & Sons, a family-owned and operated business headquartered in
Montgomery County, has the resources, infrastructure and capabilities of the large national waste
companies, but it has the dedication, commitment and business culture of a locally-run business.
“Founded by Joseph P. Mascaro, Sr. in 1964 and operated by his five sons for the last 35
years, the company now has the benefit of a third generation of Mascaros to make sure the
company stays true to its founding motto – ‘If it’s service, it’s us’”, said Pat Mascaro.
