Solid waste and recycling company, J.P. Mascaro & Sons has been awarded a new contract to service Clarks Summit Borough in Lackawanna County. The contract covers removal of waste and recyclables for all residents at cost of $7.6 million on up to a seven-year basis.
This new contract will begin in September and be serviced by J.P. Mascaro's Wyoming Valley division, which employs about 120 personnel. This facility is the base operation for 50 collection vehicles, which serve seven counties, such as Carbon, Luzerne, Lackawanna, Monroe, Columbia, Wayne, and Pike counties. Thirty-nine local municipalities, along with ten school districts benefit from well-organized daily collection services.
