Local solid waste and recycling company, J.P. Mascaro & Sons, is proud to
announce that its educational school assembly, “The Respect Program”, has grown in
popularity and recently has visited 50,000 students in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
The program has been presented at over 170 locations in 13 counties. It is offered free
of charge to elementary schools in Mascaro’s service area.
The Respect Program is the keystone of J.P. Mascaro & Son’s educational
initiatives. This educational assembly is designed to promote character education along
with environmental awareness. The game-show like assembly is a fun and interactive
way to teach two important topics. The Respect program is run by Mascaro’s team of
educational professionals, Lindsay Mascaro Ptaszenski, Nicole Hager and Katie
Mascaro.
The Respect Program also features a school grant in which schools can apply for
educational grants of up to $5,000.00 for programs that promote respect in their school
community. Since inception of the grant program in 2010, Mascaro has given away
over $150,000.00 in grants to area elementary schools. “Schools are using our grant
program to continue to spread the important message of respect. From playground
equipment, to recycling programs, to technology and beyond, schools are coming up
with unique ways to promote respect in their school communities. We awarded over
$50,000.00 in grants in the 2013-2014 school year alone and we excited for the
program to keep growing”. The Respect Program is now booking for the 2014-2015
school year. Interested schools can find information on-line at www.therespectprogram.com.
