The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has awarded
local solid waste company J. P. Mascaro & Sons a new 10-year permit for its White
Pines residual waste landfill in Pine Township, Pennsylvania.
Company President, Pat Mascaro, said, “Our people worked hard to earn this
permit from DEP. Our White Pines Landfill in Columbia County is one of only a few
DEP-permitted residual waste landfills in Pennsylvania. We are especially pleased that
the DEP’s action will allow us to continue to serve the commercial and industrial
businesses in our region.”
Company Director of Environmental Compliance, Matthew Mascaro, said, “As a
solid waste facility permittee, Mascaro is very mindful and respectful of its obligation to 2
the environment. In fact, our company’s highest priority goal is 100% environmental
compliance, not only at the White Pines Landfill, but also at our other DEP-permitted
transfer stations, landfills and compost facilities.” Mascaro added, “Environmental
compliance and customer satisfaction go hand in hand.”
J. P. Mascaro & Sons is one of the largest privately-owned waste service
companies in the country. Its primary operations are in Pennsylvania, but it also
operates collection divisions, recycling plants, transfer stations, landfills and composting
facilities in West Virginia, New York and New Jersey.
