J. P. Mascaro & Sons has announced that they are in the engineering and design stage of two major building projects. Both of the projects are situated in Berks County, Pennsylvania and include a new ten bay 30,000 square foot trucking terminal with administrative offices and space for amenities associated with the needs of its employees. The building will be situated on 13.4 acres of property owned by the company situated on Route 422 in Exeter Township.
Mike Mascaro, Vice President of Operations for Mascaro, indicated the company’s growth has been significant in the Berks County region where the company is the owner/operator of a “best class” regional landfill (Pioneer Crossing), a state-of-the-art material recovery center (Total Recycle) and A & M Composting, the largest under roof composting operation in the country which is strategically situated off the Pennsylvania turnpike in Manheim. Mascaro indicated the company will convert its existing Berks terminal into a truck rebuild/parts shop for Mascaro’s fleet of trucks and equipment which exceed 500 in number.
Ryan Inch, Director of Engineering for the company, indicated that a new 165,000 square foot waste, recycling, reuse and reduction center will be built in the general industrial district of the Borough of Birdsboro. The project is also in the engineering and design stage. Inch stated, this building will double Mascaro’s processing capability which currently is in excess of 150,000 square foot of buildings all located in close proximity to its regional landfill, Pioneer Crossing. Inch stated recycling is here to stay and Mascaro wants to be at the forefront of solutions within the waste industry that are rooted in sustainability. Both projects are to be online in 2025.
