After 20 years, Morris County has a new waste service provider, J. P. Mascaro & Sons, a
privately-owned company with over 50 years experience in the waste industry. On January 28,
2013, Mascaro started a five-year contract with the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority
to transfer, transport and dispose of Morris County waste. Speaking to the contract, Company
President, Pat Mascaro, said, “We are extremely pleased to be able to serve Morris County and
its residents, and we look forward to doing so for years to come.”
New to the Morris County area, Mascaro is also looking forward to participating in
community youth and educational programs as it has in other regional areas where the company
does business. That participation will begin with the introduction of the Company-developed
“RESPECT” Program into Morris County elementary schools.
The Mascaro “RESPECT” Program, geared towards children in the 3rd through 5th grades,
is a fun-filled interactive in-school assembly program designed to remind children about the
importance of respect in their lives, including respect for themselves, for others, and for the
environment through recycling, conservation and preservation. Mascaro introduced its
“RESPECT” Program into Pennsylvania elementary schools six years ago, committing $3.5 2
million to that initiative, which has been tremendously successful with hundreds of in-school
presentations being made to more than 200,000 students.
The “RESPECT” Program is headed by Company Director of Education and Community
Relations, Lindsay Mascaro, who has an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education
from the University of Delaware and a masters degree in Education Administration from Boston
College. “I am really excited to be able to make our ‘RESPECT’ Program available to Morris
County elementary schools. Our company has a long history of supporting youth and
educational activities, and our ‘RESPECT’ Program is a natural extension of what we have been
doing for years,” said Ms. Mascaro.
“Our ‘RESPECT’ Program has been extremely well-received in Pennsylvania elementary
schools, and I am confident that it will enjoy the same reception in Morris County elementary
schools,” added Ms. Mascaro.
