For years, local waste service company J. P. Mascaro & Sons has supported community educational efforts. That trend continues with the company’s recent contribution of $825,000 for students in need of assistance. The company’s contribution was allocated among 56 qualifying elementary and secondary schools in the Delaware Valley region, which, in turn, used the funds for students in need.
“My father and company founder, Joseph P. Mascaro, Sr., was a man of limited education, but of great vision, and he instilled in his six children the importance of a good education,” said company President, Pat Mascaro. “He strongly believed educational opportunities should be available to all, regardless of ability to pay,” added Mascaro.
Mascaro recalled that he and his four brothers benefited firsthand from such educational assistance many years ago when they were students in the local parochial school, Visitation BVM, in Trooper. “I will be forever grateful to those who helped our family, and I am thankful that the Mascaro company is in a position today to do the same for others,” said Mascaro.
Mascaro added, “It is our customers and employees who are responsible for the success of our company and who make it possible for our company to participate in and support worthwhile community programs, including educational development programs.”
