J. P. Mascaro & Sons' TotalRecycle facility, its state-of-the-art single stream recyclable materials processing facility in Exeter Township, Berks County, already processes and markets a large volume of recyclables from Montgomery, Chester, Bucks, Berks, and Lehigh County municipalities. With a new contract recently awarded to it, Lancaster County municipalities and businesses will now be added to that list.
The Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority (LCSWMA), one of the larger municipal waste management authorities in Pennsylvania, recently awarded Mascaro a large contract valued at $6 million for processing and marketing recyclables for the benefit of its county residents and commercial customers. The new contract requires Mascaro's TotalRecycle facility to provide 45,300,000 pounds annually of single stream recyclable materials capacity for LCSWMA.
Under the new contract, recyclables from all the 60 Lancaster County municipalities will be delivered by the Authority to Mascaro's 85,000 square foot, fully automated TotalRecycle facility, where they will be processed and marketed to end-users.
Speaking to the contract award, General Manager of the TotalRecycle facility, Jeff Furmanchin, stated, "We are excited about adding Lancaster County communities and businesses to our growing list of recycling customers. Mascaro and TotalRecycle are committed to remaining at the forefront of waste recycling and reuse, as evidenced by our fully automated facility, and we will continue to strive to improve our systems and quality control, as well as our end-use recyclables markets in both the United States and abroad."
