J. P. Mascaro & Sons, a local
privately-owned waste service company, was the successful vendor in a recent
Southwest Bucks Solid Waste Committee (“SWBSWC”) competitive bid process for
trash and recycling services in which the largest national companies
participated. Based upon the unanimous
recommendation of the Committee, all three SWBSWC municipalities, Northampton,
Upper Southampton and Lower Southampton Townships, voted to award the five-year
trash and recycling contract to Mascaro.
The
SWBSWC contract, which starts on January 1, 2018, is the second largest
competitively bid residential waste collection and recycling contract in
Pennsylvania, and it has a value of almost $25 million. Under this newly-awarded contract, Mascaro
will provide the 24,000 SWBSWC homes with weekly curbside trash collection and
weekly recyclables collection in a 64 gallon toter provided by Mascaro.
Speaking
to the new contract award, Mascaro company President, Pat Mascaro, said, “Our
company takes great pride in being awarded this premier residential waste
services contract by Northampton, Upper Southampton and Lower Southampton
Townships, and we are committed to providing premier service to the SWBSWC
residents with new modern equipment, experienced service personnel, and a
dedicated upper management team.”
Mascaro
will serve the SWBSWC contract from its Bridgeport, Pennsylvania operating
division. For more information about J.
