BUSINESS AT MASCARO'S TOTALRECYCLE FACILITY IS BOOMING

TotalRecycle, the waste recycling and reuse division of J. P. Mascaro & Sons, is booming.  In calendar year 2017, the $20,000,000 state-of-the-art single stream recycling facility handled 160 million pounds of recyclables.  The materials handled included many types of fibers, aluminum, steel, tin and various grades of plastics and glass.

Joseph P. Mascaro, the Mascaro company Director of Sustainability and manager of TotalRecycle, stated he is very pleased with the operating results of the TotalRecycle facility in its second year of operation.  Mascaro indicated the company is building a strong management team at the plant and continually is looking for areas within its operation to upgrade the quality of packaged recycled materials for shipment to ultimate destinations for reuse.

Mascaro also indicated that the company continues to broaden its final markets.  Presently, the company is working aggressively with markets in the United States and enjoys stable relationships with final destinations located in China, India, Korea and Vietnam.

Mascaro is optimistic for calendar year 2018, indicating he feels the facility will end the year processing in excess of 200 million pounds of recyclables.

TotalRecycle is a critical component of J. P. Mascaro & Sons, a fully-integrated waste removal and disposal company in the local region.  Mascaro has committed over $100,000,000 to sustainability in the region, operating a 450,000 square foot composting facility in Manheim, Pennsylvania, and a “best method” regional landfill in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, in addition to its TotalRecycle facility.

Pat Mascaro, President of the company, stated, “I am extremely pleased with our company’s operating performance in the sustainability sector, and I am confident that no company equals the sustainability infrastructure of J. P. Mascaro & Sons in the region.”

Joseph P. Mascaro said, “Our company is committing significant future resources to stay at the forefront of the recycling equation.”  Mascaro added, “We are in it for the long haul.”  Mascaro is one of the thirteen third generation family members operating the company founded by J. P. Mascaro, Sr. and his five sons, Joe, Frank, Lou, Mike and Pat.
