TotalRecycle, the waste recycling
and reuse division of J. P. Mascaro & Sons, is booming. In calendar year 2017, the $20,000,000
state-of-the-art single stream recycling facility handled 160 million pounds of
recyclables. The materials handled
included many types of fibers, aluminum, steel, tin and various grades of
plastics and glass.
Joseph P. Mascaro, the Mascaro
company Director of Sustainability and manager of TotalRecycle, stated he is
very pleased with the operating results of the TotalRecycle facility in its
second year of operation. Mascaro
indicated the company is building a strong management team at the plant and
continually is looking for areas within its operation to upgrade the quality of
packaged recycled materials for shipment to ultimate destinations for reuse.
Mascaro
also indicated that the company continues to broaden its final markets. Presently, the company is working
aggressively with markets in the United States and enjoys stable relationships
with final destinations located in China, India, Korea and Vietnam.
Mascaro is optimistic for calendar
year 2018, indicating he feels the facility will end the year processing in
excess of 200 million pounds of recyclables.
